Just Stop Oil protesters have staged their biggest day of slow marches so far.
More than 200 demonstrators blocked traffic in at least 14 locations across London during rush hour.
The Metropolitan Police says it has removed 183 protesters and arrested 21 so far.
Motorists have been filmed grabbing protesters on Marylebone Road and Cromwell Road – and swinging them to the side. Another person was seen grabbing one of the group’s banners as he drove by on a motorbike.
The climate activist group deployed members in Bishopsgate, Whitehall, Bird Cage Walk, Aldwych, Lillie Road, Holloway Road, Jamaica Road, Islington High Street, Kensington Road, Praed Street, Wandsworth Bridge, Commercial Road, Holloway Road and Cromwell Road.
The group has been making headlines after recently halting play at Wimbledon and throwing orange powder during a test match of the Ashes.
Just Stop Oil says it wants the UK government to halt any new licensing or consents for oil, gas and coal extraction in the UK.
But members controversial methods of slow marching, throwing orange powder and paint and gluing themselves to things has divided opinion.
The group, in what it calls an “escalation of resistance”, took to the streets of London from 8am.
The Met Police, working with the City of London Police, said officers issued a Section 12 condition to remove five protesters slow walking in Bishopsgate. The protesters were arrested after failing to comply.
Shortly before 8.30am removed 15 protesters in Whitehall before a further 25 were removed from Bird Cage Walk a short time later.

Officers also moved seven protesters at Bayswater Road, about 15 on Lillie Road and a further 10 on Jamaica Road in Bermondsey.
By 10am, the police were dealing with slow marches on Islington High Street, Kensington Road, Praed Street and Holloway Road.
The largest march so far appears to be at Cromwell Road, where officers moved 25 protesters away.
Just Stop Oil members were also arrested at other locations.
